Preventing Homelessness in Canada
For the past 25 years, Raising the Roof has raised funds for homelessness prevention programs across Canada, conducted research that informs national policy and started several innovative pilot projects to prevent and end homelessness.
Raising the Roof’s latest initiative is the Reside program. Through Reside, vacant properties are renovated into homes for people who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of homelessness. Through partnerships with social enterprise’s with construction training programs, the renovations are used a vehicle to train and employ people with barriers to employment. Upon completion, Raising the Roof partners with local housing provider who provide ongoing wraparound supports to the tenants, to help them achieve their goals.
Your donation will go towards helping make Reside projects happen across the country, providing real solutions to homelessness in Canada!
“We are members of a global leadership team that is committed to raising awareness, volunteering and fundraising for our homeless neighbours. We will be participating in these efforts in Canada, the United States and Europe. We are excited to work with Raising the Roof to help support our Canadian homeless population. .”
