For those who don’t know, Altitude is our latest initiative. While providing youth (18-29) facing barriers to employment with training and meaningful work experience, Altitude will also help us revise our iconic Toque Campaign.
Meet the participants!
A lifelong Toronto resident, Callum brings extensive student leadership and event planning experience to the team. He is a past Governor General’s Academic Bronze Medal winner. Callum applied for the Brand Ambassadors program because he wanted to both make a positive difference and gain valuable entrepreneurial skills.
Maoreen Rose Malibiran
Maoreen is from the Philippines and moved to Toronto 11months ago with her family. She is a Bachelor’s degree holder in Psychology field and also a self-proclaimed artist. Also, she is very spontaneous and adventurous, an adrenaline junkie. With the idea of building relationships based on common values and passion for a similar cause, she joined Raising the Roof Brand Ambassadors program to improve her set of skills and to learn more about entrepreneurship and use the experience for career development.
Jenieki Young, moved to Canada four years ago from Belize to pursue her career in Environmental Studies. Her interests are in line with sustainable initiatives and community planning, therefore chose to contribute her brilliant ideas to raising the roof’s b4 business program. Through this program, she hopes to improve engagement with the community, learn to be an exceptional leader and share a vision that will prolong into the future.
Kanna has a background in Advertising and Illustration. He is passionate about social and cultural reform and plans to be a part of this by leveraging his communication skills and experiences towards community development within Toronto which is why he joined Raising The Roof. He also hopes to expand on his practical entrepreneurial experience and interpersonal relationships through this program. Kanna loves Ethiopian food and karaoke.
Dev is a San Francisco-born artist and musician who counts Toronto as one of many homes. They have a background in alternative education and a passion for human connection in all its basic forms. Dev joined Raising the Roof’s Brand Ambassador program in order to develop their professional skills, build their community in Toronto, and fight for meaningful change. When they’re not learning about backcountry medicine, climbing mountains, or backpacking through the wilderness, Dev can be found making music with friends and learning new languages.
Isabelle Thibault is a Toronto born and raised passionate young adult with a work background in customer service for 3 years, as well as experience in sales and law. She is very excited to be joining the Raising the Roof team as a Brand Ambassador to be able to give back to the community and promote social change. Isabelle’s main goals are to gain knowledge and entrepreneurial skills that she is sure she will use in the future and to get as many people as possible to start caring about preventing homelessness by spreading the knowledge she will learn through this training experience.
