Preventing Homelessness in Canada

For the past 25 years, Raising the Roof has raised funds for homelessness prevention programs across Canada, conducted research that informs national policy and started several innovative pilot projects to prevent and end homelessness.

Raising the Roof’s latest initiative is the Reside program. Through Reside, vacant properties are renovated into homes for people who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of homelessness. Through partnerships with social enterprise’s with construction training programs, the renovations are used a vehicle to train and employ people with barriers to employment. 83% of people who worked on Reside projects have been connected to careers in the construction sector.

Your donation will help prevent and end homelessness in Canada through the proven and effective Reside program.
