Paul Davis has been a proud supporter of the Raising the Roof Toque Campaign for 2 years and here’s why.

Over 235,000 people experience homelessness in a year in Canada, and approximately 35,000 Canadians are homeless on a given night. Canada is notorious for being one of the coldest countries in the world, with temperatures as low as -50 degrees Celsius in some areas. No person should ever have to experience living outdoors in those temperatures, simply because they have no place to go. Homelessness can happen to anyone, and it can happen for a number of reasons that people do not always understand. There are a lot of stigmas that surround homelessness and mental health, and like Raising the Roof, we’d like to see those come to an end.

Paul Davis is a franchise operated restoration company with 63 franchises across Canada, from Campbell River, BC to Eastern Newfoundland. Our offices share our values and are dedicated to ending homelessness in Canada. This is why we participate in the Toque Campaign as a network – so we can tackle homelessness collaboratively at a National level and in local communities.

Each year on Toque Tuesday, our offices participate in events across the country to raise money and awareness for their local Raising the Roof partner agencies. Whether the office chooses to sell toques or provide them as gifts, each area they serve is made aware of the issues of homelessness and is given an opportunity to help do something about it.

It brings us great joy to see our entire network stand behind such a great cause to try and make a difference. It truly hits close to home as there is certainly not a single town or city in Canada that is unaffected by homelessness. Instead of choosing to support only at the National level, we support at the local level too, initiating change that starts right in our hometowns.
